School of Government faculty member David Ammons has been appointed as one of two academic members on the International City/County Management Association’s (ICMA) Credentialing Advisory Board. The School is well-represented on the board, which is led by UNC MPA alumni Tom Lundy ‘71.

The School of Government is pleased to welcome Kristina Wilson into its faculty ranks as assistant professor of public law and government. Wilson joined the faculty in September 2021 as the newest newest member of the law and finance division. In this role, she will advise on local government structure and authority, board procedures, and public records and transparency issues.
The UNC School of Government is saddened to share the passing of John L. Sanders, former longtime faculty member and two-time director. Sanders passed away on Sept. 22, 2021 at the age of 94. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

The UNC MPA program is pleased to announce that Willow Jacobson, School faculty member and Robert W. Bradshaw Jr. Distinguished Professor of Public Administration and Government, is the next director of the UNC MPA program. Her term commenced September 1, 2021.
Earning, spending, saving, managing—learning to work with money is an important skill that many individuals spend a lifetime cultivating. While money is often a source of stress for recent college graduates, a strong foundation in the basics of money management can set young adults up for success in the decades to come.

The School of Government is pleased to announce the addition of Emily P. Turner to its North Carolina Judicial College faculty. Turner joined the School in July 2021 and will be the lead faculty member working with the state’s judges, magistrates, and clerks on civil procedure, trials and hearings.
The School of Government is excited to welcome Teshanee Williams into its faculty ranks as an assistant professor of public administration and government. Williams originally joined the School in 2019 as a Carolina Postdoctoral Program Faculty Diversity Fellow, researching strategies to manage effective, efficient, and equitable policy outcomes through the public sector and nonprofit partnerships.
