Information Technology Investments--Metrics for Business Decisions

This report represents the final step in Phase One of an agreement between the Center for Public Technology and the Information Resource Management Commission to develop a business case methodology for determining the expected financial and operational impacts of an information technology investment. A key component of the overall project mission is the use of a study team, providing the necessary leadership for developing and implementing a business case methodology for complying with information technology portfolio-based management. Listed below are the major findings of Phase One by category and the general recommendations for a business case methodology.
