Current Temporary Employment Opportunities

This page provides descriptions of the School of Government’s current openings for temporary positions (EHRA and SHRA). All SHRA positions are subject to the State Human Resources Act of North Carolina. SHRA temporary positions are subject to the overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. EHRA positions are exempt from both the State Human Resources Act of North Carolina and the overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill requires that all candidates for positions categorized as Temporary apply through an online application process at Jobs at Carolina. The following link provides an overview of the application procedure: https://unc.peopleadmin.com/. Below are the steps to be completed to apply for a School of Government temporary position.

  • From the PeopleAdmin homepage, select the All Temporary Positions option located at the right of the page.
  • This selection will take you to the search page. Using the Division/School drop down option, select School of Government and Search. This will take you to all open positions in the School of Government currently available for this employee type.
  • Click the position you are applying for, select View Details, then click Apply to this Job to initiate the application process.
