Lucas Lawrence joined the school in 2026. As a Local Government Law Fellow, Lawrence will conduct legal research on local government law under the guidance of School of Government faculty and participate in a supervised field placement with the City Attorney's Office in Durham. During law school, Lawrence completed summer internships with the North Carolina State Bar Office of Counsel and the Hon. Allegra Collins at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In his final year of law school, he represented parents in child welfare cases as a student attorney in the UNC Family Defense Clinic.
