Faculty Member Kim Nelson Appointed to Public Administration Review Editorial Board

Kim Nelson

Faculty member Kimberly Nelson has been appointed to the editorial board for Public Administration Review, a journal dedicated to the theory and practice in public administration.

Nelson's most recent article in the journal, "The Roles of Local Government Managers in Theory and Practice: A Centennial Perspective," was co-authored with James Svara. The article documents city managers' involvement in policy and the recent expansion of community leadership, analyzing definitions of the manager's roles offered by practitioners and scholars since the beginning of the city manager profession 100 years ago. Nelson and Svara examine measurements of the manager's performance at various points in time, along with trends in the preparation of managers and the context in which they work.

Nelson will serve for a three-year term on the journal’s board.
