Knapp Library
The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.
- Covid-19 Response

The Warren Jake Wicker Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior who has been accepted by and will be attending UNC-Chapel Hill as a freshman in 2020. The $1,000 award is offered to freshmen with at least one parent who has been continuously employed full-time by a North Carolina city or county government for at least five years prior to January 1, 2020.

The Wicker scholarship is awarded based on relative financial need and academic promise and is non-renewable.Applications are accepted starting February 1, 2020, and must be submitted to the UNC Office of Scholarships and Student Aid (studentaid.unc.edu) on or before June 5, 2020. The scholarship was created by the School of Government’s 1990 Municipal and County Administration class to honor course director Jake Wicker, who was a member of the School of Government faculty for 48 years.
