READING ASSIGNMENT

Below are the pre-course reading assignments.  We find that participants like to go ahead and complete much of this before coming to the program to give more time for relaxation in the evenings while attending.  Please complete all reading before coming to class.

 For Monday:

• Read “Should Government Be Run Like a Business?” 

For Tuesday:

• Read “Eight Behaviors for Smarter Teams” article and review one-page diagrams of “Mutual Learning Approach” and “Unilateral Control Approach”

 For Wednesday:

• Read “The Innovator’s DNA”

For Thursday:

• Read: “For Delegation to Work, It Has to Come from Coaching”

• Read “The Right Way to Hold People Accountable”

• Read “Motivating People Starts with Having the Right Attitude”

• Read “Motivating Employees is Not About Carrots and Sticks” 

• Read "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team"

For Friday:

• Read “Management Time: Who’s Got the Monkey?”
