NC Magistrates' Fall Conference

This course is sponsored by NC Magistrates Association.

The 2017 Magistrates' Fall Conference has been canceled due to Hurricane Irma.

North Carolina is now under a state of emergency due to the impending and unpredictable path of Hurricane Irma. NCAOC Director Marion Warren, in consultation with the North Carolina Magistrates’ Association (NCMA), is canceling the 2017 Magistrates’ Fall Educational Conference scheduled for September 11-14 at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside. Public safety concerns and other events that may make the educational conference impractical are foremost in our minds.

NCAOC will ensure additional trainings are offered in 2017 so that all magistrates have the ability to receive necessary continuing education hours. NCAOC’s Office of Governmental Affairs (OGA) will work closely with the School of Government to develop the needed special training events. Please watch your NCAOC email and Juno for additional information.

All hotel reservations at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside have been canceled effective immediately and no deposits were charged. No further action is required.  However, several of you had reservations at other hotels.  It is your responsibility to make the necessary cancelations utilizing that property’s cancelation policy.

OGA is already working with the NCMA to confirm dates and locations for the 2018 Magistrates’ spring and fall educational conferences.

This annual 3 1/2 day conference provides continuing education to magistrates on a wide range of topics related to performance of the duties of the office of magistrate.   All online registration for the Fall Conference will be handled by the AOC.
