An Overview of Adult Protective Services Proceedings for Judges and Magistrates

This webinar will be held via Zoom from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 19.

This one-hour long webinar will provide an overview of adult protective services (APS) proceedings governed by G.S. Chapter 108A. Designed for district court judges and magistrates, the session will cover the various types of APS orders available, the scope of relief authorized by law, and the court procedures and timelines applicable to the proceedings. The webinar will also address recent legislative changes - specifically, Session Law 2025-27 - which creates new authority for the magistrate to enter ex parte emergency APS orders after hours.
