Trust Basics and Trust Proceedings for Clerks

This Judicial College session will provide introductory information related to trusts under North Carolina law, including key terminology, basic trust operation, the parties involved in a trust relationship, the purpose and uses of a trust, trust creation, and trust administration.  It will also include information on trust proceedings before the clerk with a particular focus on identifying the types of proceedings that fall in the clerk’s jurisdiction and the procedure applicable to trust proceedings.
