The School of Government is hosting a series of discussions for North Carolina planning and zoning officials on the local planning response to COVID-19. While each session will include guest speakers, there will also be time for small group conversations and Q&A.

The topics and times are as follows:

Remote Planning and Zoning Hearings, Friday, May 8, 10:30-noon
Legal requirements and practical considerations for remote meetings and hearings.

160D Update, Friday, May 15, 10:30-noon
Status of technical corrections, possible delays for the implementation deadline, and Q&A on the details of Chapter 160D

Permits & Inspections from Afar, Friday, May 22, 10:30-noon
Online permitting, inspections at a distance, and permit extension

Adjusting to a New Normal, Friday, June 5, 10:30-noon   
Professional responsibilities, practical flexibilities, and ethical dilemmas

The registration fee is listed for $125, but to make our regular courses more accessible during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering a 25% discount on registration fees for programs that begin between March 23 through June 30 that are to be held online.
