Winter Elections Conference

The Winter Elections Conference is sponsored by the School of Government and the NC State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement. The conference focuses on law and practical skills for elections directors and elections office employees. The conference will be held January 29-30, 2018 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Research Triangle Park.

In accordance with G.S. §163-82.24(a), conference attendance is mandatory for individuals in the following categories:

-          County Elections Directors

-          County Board Members who are within 6 months of their initial appointment who have not yet attended a conference

-          County Board Members who are within the window of 6 months - 2 years of service who have not yet attended a conference within that same timeframe

Registration:  Online registration is closed. If you did not register and would like to attend, you can register onsite at the conference.

Conference Location:  The conference will be held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Conference Center, Durham, NC. 

Overflow Hotel Block:  The Sheraton Imperial Hotel block is sold out. An OVERFLOW block of rooms is available at Springhill Suites by Marriott adjacent to the Sheraton Imperial Hotel. The rate is $130 and is available until January 5, 2018. All reservations will require a one night non-refundable deposit of guest room, plus applicable state and local taxes or a credit card guarantee. The block code is WECO. Conference Cancellations:  Course participants who cancel their conference registration on or before January 14, 2018 will receive a full refund. Those who cancel their conference registration on or before January 21, 2018 will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refund will be made for cancellations made after January 21, 2018. All cancellations must be submitted in writing, as outlined in the School’s cancellation policy.
