In the Matter of C.B., 187 N.C. App. 803 (2007)

Held:
Remanded

There was substantial evidence to support a reasonable inference that the juvenile was the perpetrator of an assault inflicting serious injury where the evidence showed the juvenile had attempted to engage the victim in “play fighting,” that the victim responded by shoving the juvenile and turning away from him, that seconds later, the victim was struck in his jaw, and when the victim regained consciousness, the juvenile was standing nearby taunting the victim.
