In the Matter of B.N.S., 182 N.C. App. 155 (2007)

Held:
Affirmed

The trial court properly denied the juvenile’s motion to dismiss a petition charging him with possession of a weapon on school property where evidence showed the juvenile possessed a closed pocketknife at school. The Court noted that “[a]lthough the knife’s blade was closed, the operability of the weapon is irrelevant” because the focus of the statute is on safety in schools.
