UNC MPA Program Earns Top Ranking Among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools

U.S. News & World Report Best Grad Schools

The Master of Public Administration program hosted at the UNC School of Government is ranked among “America’s Best Graduate Schools” by U.S. News & World Report. The program improved two positions since 2017, tying for 23rd in the public affairs category.

The program earned its highest ranking in the local government management specialty area, ranking third. The MPA program is ranked 14th in environmental policy and management and tied for 15th in public management and leadership. In addition, the program tied for 20th in public finance and budgeting.

In addition to ranking master’s degree programs in public affairs, this year U.S. News & World Report ranked doctoral programs in criminology and criminal justice; master's degree programs in social work and related specialty areas; and doctoral programs in the sciences, specifically in biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, mathematics, physics and statistics.
