Amanda Peele

Research Project Director

Amanda Peele joined the School of Government in 2026 as research project director for the Environmental Finance Center. In her role, she focuses on conducting applied research and providing technical assistance to local government water and wastewater utilities, increasing their capacity to make data-driven decisions on rate setting, capital planning, and financial sustainability.

Prior to joining the School, Peele worked for the UNC Public Policy office as a research assistant, where she supported faculty policy research projects. She also worked with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, where she studied and contributed to projects on climate finance, transatlantic relations, and transitioning to renewable energy.

Peele earned a bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.
