Community and Economic Development

Fayetteville-Cumberland: Pathways to Possibilities Project

Take the Pathways Project online survey

What is the Pathways to Possibilities Project?

This project is a community-wide planning process to involve a broad cross-section of the community in establishing a vision for the future of economic development in Cumberland County. The purpose of this planning process is to produce an economic development action plan that will help to position the communities in Cumberland County for impacts from BRAC and other economic, social and demographic trends.

Who is leading the effort?

A 20-member local Steering Committee is overseeing and guiding the Pathways to Possibilities Project. The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the project and has engaged a consulting team to facilitate the planning process and to develop the final report. The consulting team includes faculty and staff from the University of North Carolina School of Government, Fayetteville State University School of Business and Economics, Fayetteville Technical Community College, University of North Carolina at Pembroke, the Kenan Institute for Private Enterprise, and Regional Technology Strategies, Inc. (an economic development consulting firm based in Carrboro, North Carolina).
