Case Publications

The Case Materials Index is a resource for individuals who are interested in learning about the use of mediation and facilitation on public problems. The case studies cover a wide variety of issues, such as community development, land-use, health care, environmental management and race relations. The cases describe dispute resolution at the local, state and federal level, and a few international cases are included.

Each Index entry has five elements:

  • Bibliography - citation information
  • for the case study
  • Location - the locality in which the described events
  • took place
  • Parties - who was involved
  • Story - a very brief summary of the activity
  • Issues - the topics in the case by general type

Instructions for downloading the Excel 2000 document

You can download a copy of the Index as an Excel 2000 document.

To help you find cases of interest, you can also download a list of the Index issues referenced by relevant case studies.

Certain browsers will allow you to view the documents within the browser. Older browser editions or operating systems will require you to view the documents through Excel. In this case, after clicking on each link, you will be prompted by a dialog box asking you to either save the document or "open it from file". Saving the document will allow you to view the document from your computer. Opening the document from file will require you to reopen the document from this website each time you wish to view it.
