November 13, 2026 | UNC School of Government, Chapel Hill, NC

This one-day program combines the law of sexual offenses with the social science behind it. Sessions on sentencing and corrections, sexual exploitation laws, and petitions to terminate registration cover the legal framework judges apply. In the afternoon we will turn to criminology, with a nationally-known researcher discussing what the evidence shows about recidivism, risk, and which criminal justice interventions are shown to be effective.
