The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.

NOTE: This course is now cancelled for 2025

Registration is now open for the 2025 Regional Magistrate Training (West), sponsored by the North Carolina Judicial College. These regional schools, offered through the North Carolina Judicial College, are intended for magistrates who may have trouble attending in-person training because of time and distance obstacles. Faculty from the School of Government will travel to these regions to provide civil and criminal law training on topics such as setting conditions of pretrial release and summary ejectment. The schools will include a combination of lectures, group discussions, and interactive exercises.
