Renewable Energy in North Carolina

This article describes North Carolina’s traditional choices of energy supply, including the state’s past production of renewable energy. It also outlines current state policies that encourage development of renewable energy sources, and discusses North Carolina’s renewable energy capacity in the form of wind power, biomass fuel, and solar power. The article concludes with lessons from other states, and challenges and opportunities for North Carolina to grow its use of renewable energy resources.
