Introduction to Communicable Disease Law
Registration has closed.
Participants in this online course will learn the fundamentals of North Carolina communicable disease control law, including:
- Disease reporting and surveillance
- Communicable disease control measures, including isolation and quarantine
- Enforcement of communicable disease laws
- Confidentiality in public health communicable disease control activities
- Special issues associated with minor children
Who Should Attend
This offering is for people who work in the North Carolina public health system and the attorneys who support them, including local health directors and medical directors, communicable disease nurses and nurse supervisors, disease investigation specialists, county attorneys, and other professionals in North Carolina’s state or local public health agencies who work in communicable disease or want to know more about communicable disease law.
CERTIFICATION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION
Continuing Education Credits: Applicable credits are listed below.
Successful completion this course qualifies for 4.5 contact hours that can be used towards NC RN/LPN licensure renewal.
This program qualifies for up to 4.5 hours of General CLE Credit.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Course participants who cancel their registration more than 7 calendar days before the course start date will receive a full refund. Otherwise, participants will receive a transferrable credit to be used within 12 months. More information can be found in the full cancellation and refund policy.
