Leading Effective Online Meetings

Online meetings are often challenging. Not enough participation. Very limited natural nonverbal cues. Sharing documents and focusing on the discussion without typical visual guides. People connecting by phone and computer causes limited capability to be seen and to talk without background distractions.

This webinar provides strategies for effectively managing virtual (and hybrid) meetings.

Three kind of groups are addressed:

  • Work Teams – up to 8 or 10 people, with regular interaction and shared responsibilities

  • Cross-function groups – (6 to 20 people). One-time or limited time work, participants report to different supervisors, low to no interactions prior to this project.

  • Large groups (20 people or more). Meetings for announcements and information affecting a unit or organization. Limited participant responses (such as brief Question and Answer).

Learning Objectives

  1. Assess the meeting purpose to guide pre-meeting preparation

  2. Select interaction strategies based on group size and purpose of the meeting

  3. Assess and select expectations for participation

  4. Apply tactics to manage visual, oral, and written interactions effectively

Course participants who cancel their registration more than 7 calendar days before the course start date will receive a full refund.
