Contracting for Construction and Design Services

This program is a hybrid format. Some sessions will be in-person and others will be online. See below for a schedule overview.
This course is designed for those involved in public construction contracting at the local government level or in the procurement of the services of engineers and architects.
Topics of discussion will include:
- bidding procedures;
- construction methods, including alternative delivery (e.g., design-build);
- minority business solicitation and reporting requirements;
- legal aspects of construction contracting;
- contract administration; and
- selection of design and engineering services.
A panel will address recommended practices and hot topics in local government construction projects in North Carolina.

CERTIFICATION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION:
Certification: This course is required for the NCAGP Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer (CLGPO) certification and NC MWBE Coordinators' Network Certified Economic Inclusion Officer (CEIO) certification.
Continuing Education Credit: This course qualifies for continuing education credit for CLGPO.
Any credits earned from this program are not applicable toward an academic degree at UNC.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Course participants who cancel their registration more than 7 calendar days before the course start date will receive a full refund. Otherwise, participants will receive a transferrable credit to be used within 12 months. More information can be found in the full cancellation and refund policy.
