 ADVANCED LEADERSHIP CORPS AMBASSADORS’ REUNION

September 11-12, 2025

 

The Advanced Leadership Corps Ambassadors’ Reunion provides an opportunity for the alumni of the Advanced Leadership Corps program  from across the state to come together, share experiences and learn from one another.  Ambassadors will network with colleagues who have shared experiences during the two half-days of programming and  share challenging governing experiences.These advanced leaders willdevelop strategies and tactics to strengthen their skills and learn how respect for others can be demonstrated in the world of governing. Please register by September 3.

 

Outcomes:

  1. Learn from one another by sharing leadership insights and experiences.
  2. Review the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.
  3. Practice behavior #14 – treating people with dignity and respect.  Using scenarios, introduce and develop active listening skills.
  4. Celebrate 10 years of programming at Donna’s house.

   

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE:

Thursday, September 11th at the North Carolina Botanical Garden

12:15 pm             Check-in and lunch

1:00 pm               Welcome and Introduction: Patrice Roesler, manager of elected official programming, School of Government

2:00 pm               The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership: Donna Warner, adjunct instructor, School of Government

3:00 pm               The Five Practices in Action

5:00 pm               What Tomorrow Brings: Review agenda for day two

5:30 pm               Dinner at Donna's house

 

Friday, September 12th at UNC School of Government

8:30 am               Reflections and Lessons learned

9:30 am               Leading with Respect: Elliot Stoller, faculty member, School of Government

12:00 pm            Closing Lunch

The ALC Ambassador hotel room block is at the Hampton Inn & Suites Chapel Hill/Carrboro Hotel.
