The School of Government improves the lives of North Carolinians by engaging in practical scholarship that helps public officials and residents understand and improve state and local government. In Strategic Communications and Impact, our team serves that mission by:

  • Marketing the School’s diverse offerings to clients statewide,
  • Evaluating program goals and assessing outcomes, and
  • Communicating the School’s work, value, and impact to stakeholders.

Using a creative, adaptable, and collaborative approach, we generate big ideas, solve problems, and help faculty and staff meet (and measure) their goals.

Our teams include:

Communications: Our communicators work with stakeholders and partners across the School, University, and state to tell compelling stories about the School’s impact. Our work is driven by collaborative relationships with faculty and staff across divisions. Services include brand and content strategy, social media, media relations, messaging strategy, digital design and management, and photography and videography support.

Marketing: Our marketing team works with School faculty and staff to develop and implement a marketing and sales strategy around programs and publications at the School of Government. They create marketing initiatives such as targeted email campaigns for new program and publications offerings; monitor sales and lead generation data to inform marketing priorities and develop relationships with external partners to increase demand for new and existing offerings.

Program Evaluation and Impact Measurement: Our evaluation and impact team works with the School, divisions, and entrepreneurial initiatives to set goals, identify key performance indicators, and better measure impact. Services include creating logic models, developing evaluation plans, survey design, qualitative research, and metrics tracking and reporting.
