NCLGISA is an association of North Carolina local government Information technology professionals. The North Carolina Local Government Information Systems Association is an organization established to improve the efforts of local governments in North Carolina to plan, design, program, implement, and operate information systems. Its purpose is to assist its members in sharing experiences and ideas and in undertaking cooperative efforts intended to achieve the association's goal of improving the effectiveness of local government information systems. The association is a state chapter of Government Management Information Sciences (GMIS).

The members of NCLGISA contribute to an active listserv, organize professional development seminars, plan two continuing education symposia, and participate in many outreach projects to fellow members.  Membership is free to any local government agency employee in an IT-related position.
