HR Mission Statement & Values
The Human Resources (HR) Division supports the mission and values of the School of Government through developing, implementing, and communicating quality, customer-driven human resources services for all School personnel in partnership with the University’s Office of Human Resources. With a focus on confidentiality and high ethical standards, the HR Division seeks to create a welcoming and inclusive community where faculty, staff, and students can contribute to the success of the School, the University, and the state. Core services include: recruitment, employment, and orientation; employee relations; organizational and employee development; compensation and benefits; HR information and records administration; risk management; and regulatory compliance.
The School of Government values a non-discriminatory and diverse workplace. Consistent with the University, within the School we are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community and ensuring that educational and employment decisions are based on individuals’ abilities and qualifications. Educational materials that we provide to our clients reflect this policy. We value the contributions of all employees and have embraced a philosophy of transparency, support, and inclusiveness in our interactions with coworkers. Although each of us plays a different role in the School’s work, we recognize the expertise and effort that each person contributes. We place great emphasis on open and effective communication among employees, regardless of status or seniority.
