Knapp Library

The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.

Our Mission:

The Office of Business and Finance at the School of Government is dedicated to providing high quality business, finance and human resources services to the School of Government community. Our mission is to ensure the integrity, accountability, and efficiency of all business, finance, and HR functions of the School. We do this by working collaboratively with the University and other state agencies to provide accurate and timely services in a courteous, cooperative and cost-effective manner.

Core Services Include:

Business Efforts: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Deposits, Processing of Independent Contractors, and Travel

Grants and Budgeting Efforts: Full life-cycle support for external funding including grants and service agreements; budgeting; and financial reporting

Human Resource Efforts: recruitment, employment, and orientation; compensation and benefits; HR information and records administration; risk management; and regulatory compliance.
